  • Le mot « Maneki Neko » se compose des mots « chat » (« neko ») et du verbe « inviter » (maneku). Le maneki neko se traduit donc par « le chat qui invite ». La légende raconte que durant l’ère Edo, un homme très riche est passé à côté d’un vieux temple. Devant l’entrée, un chat faisait sa toilette tout en le regardant.
